Turned Off Mid Drive Today, Help!

Turned Off Mid Drive Today, Help!

While driving today, my little engine that could sputtered and the cut off. I put my foot on the clutch and turned it back on no problem, but I knew that wasn't good. I stopped and spoke to a friend and then we began driving to our next destination. Mid trip, on a turn I might add, the daggone thing cut off again! I had to do that over again. It was quite scary. Now for the past month, it has been sputtering dangerously low to cutting off in idle at stop signs and lights and such. But this rarely happened so I paid it no attention. Now its serious.

Any advice on somthing I can do here at home? Or should I just put it in a shop sometime this week and hope I don't come out needing a new engine...

fuel injected or carborated

2.5L 4 cylinder
fuel injected i assume.

Sounds like clogged exhaust, or possibly fuel filter.
