Once in a while
My 96 2.3 5-speed usually runs well. HOWEVER after running errands all over town in warm-to-hot weather I have experienced an odd problem. The truck will start idling erratically, getting low and choppy. On acceleration it lurches and barely gets up to speed. Finally, at the next stop in does the idle thing and the engine finally dies. Cranking and cranking will get it to pop a couple times but will not start. After 15-20 minutes of cooling off it will start up and function normally. Describing the issue its almost like it has run out of gas...that's the sensation.
It's got a brand new fuel pump and in line filter. In cool weather I do not experience this problem AND it doesn't always do this in warm weather. I feel as if the problem must lie in the fuel delivery system to the throttle body but that's just a guess.
No codes on the scan and no check engine. I'm up for any suggestions. Thanks to my fellow members.
