ok to mix 5w 20 and 5w 30?

ok to mix 5w 20 and 5w 30?

heres the deal i always get the 5 qt things at walmart and now have 3 qts of 5w20 and 1 qt of 5w30 sitting here of castrol gtx ..... was thinking of using it next time i change the oil in the truck unless you guys can convince me otherwise.

As long as it is the same brand, I wouldnt see a problem. When you do an oil change, you are going to mix a little oil anyways.

aight sounds good cause i figured mixing brands was a bad idea but wasnt sure bout diff weights of the same brand

they are close enough not to make a difference
as long as you use the same brand u should be good

My dad did it in his 92 and it has 280k on it. He was in a similar situation as you.
