I've been slowly troubleshooting as much as I can by myself but there are some things I just can't figure out. For example, my ranger is leaking oil from what looks like the top of the engine. I took some pictures that I'll attach below. From what I can tell it looks like a sensor that came off the back end of the cylinder head. You can see the orange O ring and there's a wire coming out of the back of it. These pictures are take from the drivers side pointing up towards the back of the engine and it looks like I'd need to take the intake manifold off to reach it since I can only see it from the under side. HELP!

 

Looks like the oil pressure sending unit. They will leak when they get old and fail. Not real expensive. Some are a PITA to change though if in a tight spot.

 

Gotcha. It looks like its come totally off of the engine. Would that be causing as much oil as is in the picture?

 

I've had some leak quite a bit when they failed. Most of the time it starts out as a seep then progressively gets worse. It is a point of actual pressure unlike pan and valve cover gaskets.
