Help identifying oil leak.

Can anyone identify what exactly is leaking oil on my 09 2.3. It seems to be coming from where the waterpump meets the block but I wouldnt think oil would be there. Its not really dripping yet but definitely seeping. Any ideas as to what seal or gasket is bad? And if I should take care of it now or just leave it alone? Pics below.

Most likely it's coming from the timing chain cover. And it looks like it's a pretty small leak. If you aren't losing any oil over 1000 - 3000 miles then I wouldn't worry about it.

You could clean it up with some carb cleaner and then drive it for a bit to see if it's definitely oil or coolant being sprayed onto an already dirty area.

Thanks for the response. I just bought a few cans of degreaser to give the area a good scrubbing tomorrow. Ill check on it after its clean as you suggested.

If it is indeed oil and from the timing chain cover then you might be able to cinch up those cover bolts a little. But if the gasket is cracked and you decide you want to change it then look up the timing procedure for these 2.3L Duratec engines because you'll have to do it when you remove the crank pulley.
