Fuel Pump Mystery

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to replace the fuel pump (only) on my 1999 XLT 2.5L…
when I look for the part at an auto parts shop using my VIN number, the part that comes up does not match my actual fuel pump! The connectors are different and won’t fit. I don’t even know where to start tracking down the one I need…
I’m trying to avoid buying the entire assembly, but if it comes down to it, I will.
Please take a look at the photos. Notice how the connectors are different!
I’d appreciate any advice. Thank you!

The part that’s supposed to fit my truck according to the database, using my VIN

The actual pump that needs replacing. Seems to be original, but at this point, I’m not so sure anymore

If you look at the white end of that adapter, your stock plug goes into it.

oh man, I feel silly! Thanks, I didn’t think of this connector being an adapter. I was expecting the replacement part to look exactly like the original part.
Job done!
