2.5 lima Fuel Pump Options
2000 2.5 XLT 180k miles:
I like using oem parts for "critical components" but I cant seem to find a Motocraft brand fuel pump. So which of these is the safest bet?
If none of these what have you guys had good luck with? I just need the parts number more than anything so if you have that even better!

Same in tank pumps were used from 1989 thru 2011 on all Rangers, engine size didn't matter
The whole assembly changes, in height, depending on fuel tank size, 17gal or 20gal, that's where the wheel base comes in, regular cab had 17gal, extended cab 20gal
So any of the above pumps would work................if they work, lol, there are more than a few complaints about having to swap out 3rd party pumps, under warranty, in the first year, so just a heads up, SAVE THE RECEIPT
Not sure if you can still get the Motorcraft pump as stand alone, may only be sold as whole assembly
In 1998 and up the whole assembly setup was changed, just FYI

I have a 2000 single cab XLT which should be the 112inch wheel base and 16/17 gallon sounds spot on for full tank. If I buy an entire sending unit assembly looks like I'm limited to basically just this
160 bucks on Amazon atm. Might buy it there just to have on hand. Pull mine and asses then.

I don't think that's the right one for a 2000 2.5L Ranger
1998-2000 Ranger has single fuel line at the top of assembly, that shows 2
2001-2011 had 2 fuel line connections
Top of the assembly has 1 EVAP hose connection, all Rangers
And 1 or 2 fuel lines
1986 to 1997 Ford used a Return fuel system, so there was and OUT and an IN(return) hose, with pressure regulator(FPR) on the engine
In 1998 Ford switch to a "returnless" fuel system, so 1 OUT hose, and FPR in the tank on the OUT hose of pump
But.............fuel pressure jumped around too much
So in 2001 Ford changed to a 3 port Fuel Filter, and back to 2 fuel hoses on the top of assembly
3rd port on filter was the Return line, stabilized pressure at the engine/injectors
So have a look at your fuel filer in the Frame Rail
If you see just 2 hoses connected then you will have just 1 fuel hose on assembly
If 3 hoses are on the filter then you will need 2 hose assembly
If you were just changing the pump itself none of this would matter, lol

The pipe sticking straight up is the added Return in 2001, has a 90deg connector
