2.3L, 2wd engine swap to what??? more power

im new so take it easy,
i have a B2300 in good shape only 50k miles. but shes a 4-bangger and i want more power without buying a new truck. is there a good engine thats ideal to upgrade to to get more more power and without killing my bank account. my engine is a 2006 and runs great, i just want more power. ive installed exaust, chip, intake, spark plugs n wires...yadaa yadaa. but its not enuff i got 140 hp and 150 lbs of tourqe to the wheels...after all that. so please anyone know where i should sell my engine to swap for more power and where or how far should i upgrade and what to? thanks!!!!1

More power is not cheap. You could do a V8 but that could cost 1 or 2 thousand depending on what you buy and how much it costs. My advise is leave your truck as is because you will not get any power out of it without spending a lot of cash. No an intake wont give you 30hp.

Scanguage hp is inaccurate. The hp is a calculation of other stuff. How can an the engine make more power than what the factory says it does? Yeah its been done before but not a little truck.

Yeah but not on a crappy little truck like a Ranger.

For being "Drastically Aware" how did you not notice this was in a very wrong category?

Just sayin...

Swap a 4.0 into it. That's going to be the easiest/cheapest route to more power without selling the truck.

not sure where to post to there, rngprerunner! but ya a 4.0 would be nice, but wont i have to do a lot of changes like motor mounts, radiator, fan, i mean swap everything? i was thinkin a turbo might not be a bad idea, but im looking for more tourqe then hp, i carry boats and do some trail ridding and i haul stuff around as im a sub-contractor. so thats why i dont think turbo is a good fit, plus i cant sell my truck to save my life in this economy!!!! or else i would, i REALLY want 4x4. but ill settle for my 2wd and more power

I think he said his was an '06? In that case, doing the "turbo coupe" swap to a Lima would be a step back. In reality, the engine you have is the best compromise between power and economy you can get in a Ranger. And as far as more power, and swapping to a 4.0, with the mods you have, a 4.0 swap won't make you much happier. I beat a 4.0 Ranger with my 2.3, and I have intake, exhaust and tune on mine. As far a turbo goes, if you can build it, it will make huge power without too much boost, but there isn't really anything out there for the RWD platform aftermarket wise. On the Focus with the DuraTech 2.3, they've been laying down 265whp with 12 psi on stock internals, and not breaking stuff.

And to christian "whippersnapper", I don't appreciate you constantly down grading everybody's truck but your own. I don't think I have a "crappy little truck", and if that's the way you think, you can keep it to yourself.

boost it.

Just think, the power of a large V8 with the economy of a small V6.
