2.3 to 2jz-ge swap
#2
Welcome to the forum
2jz-ge is a 3.0l Toyota DOHC inline 6 cylinder, and will not fit without changes
It is
30" wide
27" tall
31" long
The Ford 302/5.0l V8 swap is a very tight squeeze in Ranger engine bay, and its dimensions are:
19" wide
21" tall
27" long
The 6" tall difference could be dealt with, with a body lift, 5" lift should be OK, 6" would be best
11" more width means getting rid of heater/fan box, and moving steering column over
May have to run exhaust pipe on the outside of the frame
Length will be tough, that 4" is hard to come by, cut out firewall, and/or move radiator to in front of rad support, and use a different radiator
Stock 2jz-ge engine runs about 220 horse power and 220 ft/lb torque
Ford 302/5.0l runs 210HP and 275ft/lb torque
You would be better off with the V8, been done alot and no surprises
Even if the 2jz-ge was free and they GAVE YOU $1,000 to take it, it would be cheaper to swap in the 5.0l V8, lol, if money matters
