Bronco II Spare tire carrier on a ranger?

Has anyone seen it done? Google wasn't very helpful.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Thanks!

i would be interested in this as well. i just pulled one off a blazer earlyer today and it didnt match up quite right as i figured would happen but then i found a 2000 blazer that looked like it might fit the bill but i didnt have the torx bits i needed to pull it and see if it would fit. :( any other suvs that had a rear mounted swing away tire carrier that might fit?

I think blazers and bronks had reinforcement in the rear quarters. You would have to brace. I have a pic on my laptop of a 1st or 2nd gen that did that. It looks good but there is a company that does a bumper mount one and a tailgate replacement one. A member here has the tailgate one and it looks really good.

If i could steal that pic from ya that be sweet! Maybe I should look up the reinforcement issue on a bronco II forum and see if I can find anything. If i see anything I'll post it.

the hard part about the tiregate is that it is higher than the bed sides so if you have a cap you wont be able to close it :(

yea you gotta open the tire gate to open the window, but the same applies to the tailgate regardless!

A member on here named WowMike2001 has one (really nice and helpful guy) and a while back he sent me some pics of it cuz i was thinking about one and I hope he wont mind my putting these up here but they should show what im talking about.

I dont know how your cap is but when I compare thos pics to these ones of my cap i think im gonna have to come up with something of my own to make this tire mount happen.

Sorry for the picture overload here but i felt it might help explain.

What about a drop down carrier that attaches to a custom fab bumper? I have a camper like yours on my Ranger and really want the rear tire carrier setup without the hassle. I think that might be our best bet. Thoughts anyone? Pics of what you have please?

Just have to say I love that jeep thing on the window , I'd like to have it but I would always worry about being vandalized or somthing.
And related to the tire carrier, my 1975 f250 had it on the front and I thought it looked good, I mean if you don't have a winch, it probably wouldnt take much to fab somthing up from the tow hooks like two bars and another bar from inside the grill of coarse depending on the grill you have but they could all come together to a plate with a couple of studs tacked on so you could use a locking lug nut.

Actually that dose sounds like a lot of work.

well I personally plan on a baja bumper with skid plate and police style push bars being fabricated for my front. That's an interesting idea though. Would like to see some photos
