Super Duty OHC... would it work??

does anyone know if an overhead console from a super duty would work in our trucks???? i'd love to have the mpg display, etc.. in my truck.

does anyone think they'd be able to wire them up and have it work right????

what about it fitting on the roof correctly (like the Explorer OHC's do)..

Don't have any idea if it would fit the roof.

Bigger problem: Ranger PCMs don't have the injector pulse width output that is needed for the fuel calculations in the trip computer.

here's a pic of one

i was just wondering how hard it would be to get one working in our trucks.. my friend has it in his f250.. and asked me what my mpg was on the way down the shore this weekend.... i told him i wasn't sure yet becuase i haven't stopped to refill yet to make the calculations.

it looks like it wont even fit right... too wide and not the right contour for the roof

He hit it right there. You need a that signal from the pcm. I'm fairy new to these trucks and these motors, but are they batch fire or seq. fire? If there seq. fire the you should be able to find the signal then.

yeah i know all about the explorer OHC.. that wasn't what i asked about. i wanted to know if it were possible to use the MPG feature in the super duty's OHC... doing so isn't easily possible, so that idea is no longer around.

and yes, i know how to get my mpg at fill up.. that isn't the point though.

Mmk... sorry to dig this up again but I'm determined now... lol... I found the OHC in the super duty with a sunroof much more apealing than the one from the explorer. I know I can't get fuel calculations but will that cause the whole OHC not to work or can I still wire the rest like normal?

I'm trying to find a pic but these are triangular shaped and a lot shorter than the standard super duty so it looks like it might fit....

Anything is possible with enough time and money invested in it. If it wont fit our headliner, make a new headliner.

As far as MPG goes, though the console may not work, there are MPG calculators for our trucks. Again, time and money to make it work.

Nope... this one has a display screen (and I wanna say it's smaller than my dad's full length one in his PSD), 2 map lights and the switch for the sunroof.

I'm not really interested in dumping a bunch of money into this but if I can hook up the temp/direction and run those two that's all I really care about. As for making it fit on the roof I think it would and don't think it'd be to hard to make it fit...

I wouldnt like that thing because of the huge sunroof switch that would be useless in our trucks... I vote to just do the expo OHC. Its easy to do and looks and works great. Almost as if it was factory installed

I'm not doing the expo OHC... and my plan was to use the sunroof switch as an aux switch... I guess bottom line is doesn anyone know if the OHC will work if the mpg isn't wired up??

i dont see why it wouldnt. the expo ohc works if nothing but the lights are wired, ANd if the temp sensor isnt hooked up. so im sure this one would be the same.
