Electronic Signal Flasher Module works for LED conversion - details inside.
I recently installed an EP27 electric based turn signal flasher that is compatible with LED's. This allows normal operation of your turnsignals in a ranger without using those stupid LED resistors. The flash rate is the same as stock.
The flasher can be purchased at V-leds.com for 16$.
I think this is a really good option if anyone is doing a complete LED conversion like I am.
Load resistors suck.
If you don't know, the stock thermal flasher is located under the dash on the drivers side. In my 2004 it was a little blue shaped module right above my clutch pedal.
This mod takes about 10 minutes to do. The hardest part for me was maneuvering around my alarm wiring. It also makes a nicer sound in my opinion compared to the stock clicking. The sound is softer.

The EP27 is a little guy that connects to the wiring and makes your turnsignals work with LED's or the stock bulbs. You can mix and match, everything works fine.
I have recently completed modding my aftermarket ranger tails with 4 L1224R leds (2 each) These are brighter and more vivid than any stock bulb or LED replacement, It required me converting the keyhole shape to the L1224R style. I epoxied everything together. Epoxy should be dry today, I will post photos as this is the tail light mod to end all tail light mods.

I went and got the Tridon EP-27 flasher from Advanced Auto Parts (http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/buy...flashers.html#) and I went to install it today and right when I plugged it in a clicking noise came from the flasher. When I turned on my Ranger and hazards the lights flashed but the clicking noise from the flasher was still there.
Is this normal or did I do something wrong? Or do I have a faulty flasher?
Thanks.

I'd also like to add that that flasher will NOT work with 1997 and down rangers. The proper flasher you need is an EL12L2. You need to add extensions and switch the leads going into it. This is a mute flasher (no sound) and is only available through NAPA from what I've found.
The one on the left is my original one, the right is the EP-27. Original has 6-pins and the EP-27 has 5-pins that is the only difference I see.
